Only reason Little Mac interests me. Beyond some merchandise in the late '80s / early '90s, there's no Punch-Out figures. I'll use it for its amiibo purposes too, but that's not the reason I'm interested.

(Probably will wind up with others too, though, if they unlock enough in other games, ie Link.)

Looks like Toon Link unlocks the same Hyrule Warriors content as Link does so I'll just get him as he's a much more appealing model.

I picked up a Mario Amiibo last night. Waay smaller than I thought. Not disappointing, just surprising. Really good quality though. I expected it to be a hard plastic but it's actually a little flexible; I can move around Mario's arms slightly so there's no worry of anything snaping. The detail is really good too, you can feel the stitching in Mario's overalls and there are even riples in his overalls where his legs bend as well. His overalls also have a faded look where his knees are and on the top of his hat so it's not just one colour. Only odd thing (though not noticable) is that his eyebrows are black, I'm pretty sure Mario has brown eyebrows.

I took a look at other Amiibo's when I bought mine and they all looked good, especially Samus (so tiny though!) Only one that looked bad was Villager; I don't know what they did to his face.

I've only used it in Mario Kart 8 so far. Costume is nice, but what's really nice is how fast the GamePad recognizes the Amiibo. I really hope Nintendo goes through and makes pre paid eShop cards with NFC chips built in like they were planning - fasting than even a credit card.

On a side note, I ordered Smash Wii U from best Buy so I'm expecting it to arrive next week. I pre-ordered Pokemon Omega Ruby from my local game store apparently their shipment truck broke down in Alberta so they weren't able to get Smash or Pokemon to the store in time for last night. Cool thing is that Nintendo's offering $5 off Pokemon now for those who pre ordered it at that store, and if you pre ordered Smash they're giving you a free Amiibo. I'm saving more money with Best Buy, but I still wish I bought it at my local store for that free Amiibo

Was surprised with that as well, after reading the safety instructions. Read you could not move the amiibo while holding it on the GamePad while it was reading/writing. But for MK8 it only has to read what amiibo it is, so no heavy duty reading/writing as I think will be the case for Smash (though I presume data exchange will have been kept to a minimal).

At the retail store I went for my first amiibo, there was ot much choice. DK, Mario, Pikachu, Fox, Samus and another one of a game I don't know (not the Villager). Samus was my first choice, but I might have picked up Link as well. Was tempted by DK, but not enough to get it.

Marth was really popular around here... that sold out quickly! :P

That was the 6th one I believe.

Should be interesting to see the sales figures for the amiibo launch.

Hopefully, I'll have a chance to buy at least half of the six amiibos in December since EB Games Canada has reached their pre-order limit. As for sales, yeah, I'm looking forward to hearing this hopefully after the Christmas holiday season at the latest.

I've picked up most of the first wave so far. Grabbed Mario, Link, Samus, Pikachu and Marth on launch day and have since added Donkey Kong and Star Fox. Just grabbed Zelda from wave two as well.

Went to the max on "Wave 1 & 2" of amiibo. Pre-ordered the Shulk amiibo the other day from "Wave 3."

-----
Wave 1: 12/12
Wave 2: 3/6 (Pit, Luigi, Captain Falcon yet to pick up)
Wave 3: 1/11 (Shulk is on the board -- EB/GS exclusive)

I was going to buy Shulk and Samus but EB Games website wouldn't get past the payment information screen, bummer. Wave 3 is a killer for me; I need Toon Link, Ike, Bowser, Mega Man and I was hoping for Shulk too. I will probably get Rosalina as well for my niece.
