Member perks, ehh, I dunno. I dunno how I feel about that. There are a bunch of points to make for having a member perks bonus, but I kind of find the idea antithetical to the spirit of the BGE.
Unless the spirit of the BGE is getting people to engage on TONe instead of just popping some titles into a form on the site and bouncing.
No, I get that, and it's one of the (many) arguments to make in their favour. But it adds a bias to the data. So if engagement here is the ultimate goal, it may be a decision worth making, but I think one that should be really carefully considered first.
[EDIT] Sorry Slurm, managed to skip over your post initially. I think creative application of the perks is a good way to mitigate their effects on the results. Limiting them to the side polls is a fine compromise.

I'm tidying up the big BGE spreadsheets in preparation for eventual open nominations.
Just looking at some of the great data we have, a couple of interesting user poll ideas:
- Games that were nominated for the first time in BGE!!!2 (2012)
- Games that were nominated for the first time in BG3!!! (2015)
- Games that have risen 100 or more ranks up the charts
- Games that have fallen 100 or more ranks down the charts

Phase One:
- Each user supplies a poll/contest topic idea (to pull one example mentioned in this thread already: "Best Soundtrack")
- These can be sent to me via PM to keep them secret and surprising
Phase Two:
- Reveal the user-submitted polls
- Open nominations for user-submitted polls and the main BGE!!!
10 nominations each?
- Or a weighted system like we used last time, where you can nominate however many you want and their value changes accordingly?
- Host a Google Form on TONe to solicit nominations for all categories from non-members
Members get a nomination bonus/perk?
Phase Three:
- Preliminary rounds for user-submitted polls
- Main event preliminary rounds sorted by console/series/developer/etc?
It seems like Vic and Slurm are the only people with thoughts on this. Rather than interpret that as apathy, I'll take it as a sign that we're on the right track with how this will be organized.
I'm putting together a TONe post today, which I'll also post here in the BGE!!! section of the forum, explaining the format and opening the floodgates for user-submitted poll topics. You'll be able to submit a poll idea via PM here or through a form on the site.
If you want to start submitting your polls now, feel free to PM me.
Each member can submit one custom poll, so think carefully about your choice. If someone else has already submitted the same poll idea, I'll get in touch with you and give you another choice.
Once the poll submissions close (I'm thinking 1 October), we'll begin soliciting nominations for every poll!

Has something come up that has delayed the BGE? Just making sure I haven't somehow missed something.

Wuppo won unanimously and the perfunctory task of ranking all the other games was deemed unnecessary in comparison to ranking #1.

Yeah. But what is a delay? It didn't have a scheduled start date.

Well you mentioned making a post and things being due by Oct 1st. Then nothing happened. That's the delay I was talking about.
Edit:this sounded super rude and I don't mean it that way I was generally just curious if it was still going ahead of if it got pushed back to a later date.

There is still December...
To be honest, I don’t mind when this is going to take place. From all of our busy schedules and other things going on that I might not understand.
