Woooot Vic! :)

In other news, "Henk's a Lot" for shutting out Pittsburgh...

Updated sheet.
I think we all know I'm the real sleeper team here.

All it takes is a 5-point game where each goal has two assist, and each of those guys is on your active roster. That's 15 points in one game! Do that a couple times and you're back in the mix. :)

I can't wait to see what the standings look like when we start subbing in players! Could be a huge point surge!

Bad news for me... Dan Boyle could return to the ice on Thursday. He had missed 14 games with a broken hand.

As for LA, they've got to prevent pucks [inc. shots on goal] from getting to their own net. I know they're missing a couple defencemen (including one from suspension), but still...

Quick has played fantastic throughout the season, despite this.

That is bad news! Being able to replace him without burning one of your New Years substitutions would be way better. I suppose you could always take the risk in hoping that he'll miss 6 more games for incidental stuff between his return and the end of the season...

There are apparently some potential owners lined up for a future franchise in Las Vegas.

The fact that Daly even commented on this lends it quite a bit of credence, in my opinion, given how firmly they've committed to not commenting on expansion in the past. They said the only way expansion could happen is if it's in the West, to balance out the conferences.

We already know Seattle is high on the list of potential cities for a franchise. I could see it playing out like this:

2017: Las Vegas
2018: Seattle (conferences are balanced)
2020: Quebec City (east)
2022: Toronto (???)

There's been a big enough market in Toronto/southern Ontario for another team for a long time. Adding it to the Western conference will have the dual benefit of keeping the conferences even, as well as separating the Toronto teams. One downfall is they wouldn't be able to play up the local rivalry. Not sure what they'd hope to do with this. Just fun speculation. It seems like they'd need at least one or two more Western conference teams to justify a team in Quebec City, though, and everyone (including the NHL) seems to want a team there.

Las Vegas??? UGH

Let's keep hockey where it's cold please. Put a team in Quebec and shift Detroit back to the West.
