How do you like Centaur? It's one of my all time favourites. I've been lucky enough to have played the real deal a few times recently. This was a big favourite of mine as a kid.

Haven't played it a lot, just picked up on Pinball Arcade again and went through my tables a few days ago. Just now checked if the score I set was a highscore for me, only to find out I hadn't set a highscore for this table yet. What I recall from the table is that it's from an older series of "simple" (as in no moving objects or animations) tables. Compared to the other "simple" tables I have played, Centaur is sure looking great and playes well.

One thing to watch for, if you aren't already aware, is that the outlanes have an inward-facing gate and a peg. If you stay on top of things you can manually save a lot of lost balls from the outlanes with a well timed nudge. This is, naturally, way easier to pull of on the virtual table, but nice to see the feature included. Big time drop target table, which are always my favourites.

I had a chance to play
Centaur at Hal-Con a couple years ago. It's a nicely-designed table, but unfortunately the unit they had at the convention wasn't in the best shape, so I didn't get a good feel for it. Play was slow and clunky.

Kiwi mentioned in the chat that this game is losing a bunch of tables, due to licences expiring. You'll still be able to play them, but you don't be able to buy them after they're removed. I guess it was bound to happen. Maybe it'll prompt them to put some of their absurdly-priced seasonal table packs on sale before they can't make any $$ off them anymore.
