Rates should be pretty competitive since all the hotels on the strip (for example) are jockeying to get people into their casinos. I stayed at the MGM Grand last time I was there, though it wasn't on my own dime. I'm not opposed to bunking up to save a few bucks.

Hard to travel with a tiny baby at home. Minneapolis is nice to visit!

Let us know if you find a way to set aside a 3-day weekend any time in the spring!

Feb 19 and May 28 are Monday holidays in the US. I doubt my wife would be keen on my going anywhere, but if people came here I’d show them a good time.

Keeping the discussion going, I tentatively propose the following dates:
- Friday, 30 March to Monday, 2 April (this is Easter weekend)
- Saturday, 19 May to Monday 21 May (this is Victoria Day weekend in Canada)
Those are basically the only long weekends I can see on my calendar before summer. We also have the option to take a normal-length weekend if different dates work better for more people. I also have a long weekend in February (17-19), but that might be coming up to soon to allow for adequate planning.
Vic? Clay? Shoe? Share? Spore? Pluvius? If we work something out we should also shoot off-TONe messages to PR and Kanti since they're loosely in the area and might want to swing by.

I may be able to join. My main obstacles in general would be work (and I think those dates are fine as far as that goes) and possibly my ex if she’d end up having to watch the kids when I’m supposed to be. That and money but as you all know Vegas is a relatively cheap destination...

Whoa, are we still talking 2018? If so, I won't be able to land much if any new time off, so a weekend will be mandatory for me.

We can talk 2019 if it gives people the ability to plan and book stuff. We tried planning way in advance before and it petered out, so I thought maybe some immediacy would help give people a better picture of their schedules.
Late May is 4.5 months away. Seems like a nice middle ground.

My main challenge will be getting a Friday or Monday off, so if we can do a long weekend, I'm all over it. Vegas tends to be a cheap trip so short notice should be ok, but the dates will be important this year (it's wedding month and I want to see my folks in the summer).
