I actually got up to I think 1900 coins last night will all the tourney play and some offline play with my friends (and some of you guys) earlier in the week.

EDIT: And I think I crossed 1400 online points (whatever they're called) last night. I ended up in a room with a guy who had ~7700 points though, and he was crazy.

Online Points are VR Versus Rating

I like to do that as well, I think Toad Harbor is the only one that's too straight of a drift for me though.

Update for MK8 coming August 27th!

- map display on the TV screen
- 3 free Mercedes-Benz karts: GLA, W25 Silver Arrow, 300 SL Roadster
- records screen w/ total coins, online win-loss record, character selection rates, etc.
- improved online stability
- default menu selection following GP changing to next race
- last used kart customization added to save
- edit others' highlights
(From GoNintendo)

Nice additions, I still have a few other technical complaints (not being able to have full screen on GamePad while playing 2 player, playing online with friends is cumbersome, etc.) but those fix a lot of them. Now we just need more courses and battle mode fixed and we'll be good to go!

Playing online with friends is cumbersome is my main interface complaint, even more than coins/stats. You should be able to keep a lobby up indefinitely while waiting for friends to join without being forced to a start countdown.

I'd also like to see better custom race options, especially the ability to customize items in much greater depth (toggle each individual item on or off, like in Brawl).

Definitely, there are a lot of things you should be able to do with friends that you can't, like inviting them to games or seeing when they're online easiler. And I want that customization as well. I wish Nintendo would take Mario Kart and design it the way Smash is designed with all of its options so you can make the experience your own rather than the singular experience the developers made.

I agree Kreegs, hopefully they keep the updates coming. Maybe the other complaints will be more apparents once these ones in the update are out of the way.
