I will be playing Alien Isolation as well... Lemme know when you guys start. Would love to do a solidarity/tandem run w you guys.

I'm also working through the Fallouts as prep for FO4 (I'm calling it the autumn of Fallout but I'm sure there's a better name there). So far I'm doing a lot of resets because I have a partner (Ian) that really liked starting combat w important npcs. Fallout does get kind of unnervy so I'm mentioning it here

I was hoping to see this thread bumped!

I'm not sure what thematic game I might play this time. I'm thinking about playing the epilogue chapter to Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES, which I still haven't beaten despite Persona 3 being my favorite game I beat last year (the epilogue is not part of the original release of P3, so I consider it "post-game" rather than a beat requirement). There are certainly some spooky/occult elements to the game, but somehow it doesn't quite fit the bill for Halloween, which I've always enjoyed as a campy holiday.

I think I will pull out a Castlevania or something like that. I still have a handful knocking around in my Wii that I haven't finished, including Super Castlevania IV.

I just played through a game called Whispering Willows on the Wii U that I got for a review. It's about a girl in search of her missing father at the mansion estate he works out. Naturally it's haunted my many spirits from a certain horrible event in its history.

You can also project yourself in to the spirit world to communicate with them, posses items to solve puzzles and enter areas normally inaccessible.

It's not scary, in fact it's rather light hearted. Probably closer to the Scooby doo end of the scale. But it's a nice mystery story.

It's very very easy though.

I'm a little behind the 8-ball thanks to a vacation, but I did DL Dracula X Chronicles to my Vita, and have unlocked the original Rondo, plus SotN. Will be digging in on my flight home.

Organ Trail is coming to PS4 & Vita next week, so I might pick that one up and sink some time into it for our creepy October creepfest.

I ended up giving Castlevain Aria of Sorrow a try during the last few days of October. So far it looks to be a pretty good purchase, I like how quick the game gets into things, I'm getting power ups out the wazoo! I haven't had the time to play too much of it (nevermind beat it during October) but I looked forward to coming back to it when I have a little more time.

I'm still chipping away at Alien Isolation but don't like it very much. I've stalled on Fatal Frame 2 as I started playing Mega Man 9. Not sure if that's because I wanted to play a Mega Man game or if it's because of ghost discomfort. I'll get back to it soon though...

Never did boot my Fighting Fantasy horror game but, that too, I'll still get to.

Anyone have any October Halloween-themed plans?

As far as games, I'm going to keep it to one at a time this year and I'll start with The Evil Within. I'll take a break from AssCreed 2 (though not from Xillia) to help me stay focused. If I'm playing too much stuff at once I'll never make much progress throughout October. At least that's my plan.

Any other plans? Horror movie fests or creepy books? I think I'll do another Alien marathon at some point just because I adore those films.

Post here what your plans are and how they're going. Happy October!

Ok, let's try that again, shall we? Resident Evil will be my primary attempt, and while I have played through Outlast at this point, it was with a friend for moral support and not on my system. Let's see if I can do it solo.

Isolation ruins my nerves. I'll call it a stretch goal.

I have a few games I could boot up - Never finished Aria of Sorrow, Resident Evil is available on PS plus, wouldn't mind giving Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon another go.

The one game I do think I will get through is The Last of Us. Downloaded it on sale for $15 the other day, perfect for October.
