The verdict is in, I've put 60+ hours into the game so far! I'm thinking about looking for my first dungeon pretty soon, I'd rather keep them spaced out rather than do them all at the end. Of course, I haven't found anything resembling a dungeon yet so I still have some work to do.

Holy bologna, the desert in this game is huuuuuge!
65+ hours in and still discovering so many things. Haven't even seen 50% of the map.

There's a lot of game here.
That's partly why I'm not advancing the story as much. I don't want to feel like I've beaten it and I'm just cleaning up loose ends through my exploration. I want my exploration to feel like it's leading up to something.

I've done two divine beasts and have 15 hearts /4 stamina upgrades and master sword.
I'm trying to avoid doing too much more so I've got something to do in my flights home next week.but damn I love exploring

Wow you seem to be ahead of us all!

Aaaaactually.
I have the same stats, except 6 stam upgrades and 13 hearts. Ouen and I are basically tied.
(that's what being on call for a week will do for you)

There's no such thing as being "ahead" in this game. We're all winners.

It doesn't matter how many hearts you have or what type of weapon.
It's all about the Korok Seeds

I feel exactly the same, which is why I feel like it's about time I do one divine beast, so that I don't conversely explore all the areas and just have story left to do! :p It's a delicate balance.
I actually just ran into my first Divine Beast in the desert... so I imagine I'll be tackling it in another 20 hours or so
Currently 70+ hours.

Just checked my hours, and I'm at 55+ (which I understand means between 55 and 60). I've done two beasts, but man, I cannot believe you've found enough stuff to fill 70 hours with without doing a single Beast, Shoe. That's incredible. I think it's just the style of player I am, but I actually have to actively try not to advance the story. In most games, it's inherently what I want to be doing. I even...
went straight to Ganon after I got the Master Sword, and to my surprise, I was able to reach him and fight him. I quit immediately upon reaching him because, like many of you, I didn't want to explore/tame other beasts *after* I'd already seen the ending.
Suffice it to say, the itch to "reach the credits" is strong for me in most games. However, I will say that I don't have to fight that urge with this game nearly as much as most. Exploring and just messing around in the world is tons of fun. I don't really want to be done with this game anytime soon. I have too much fun just gallivanting around looking for the next thing to inspect.

Divine Beast spoilers: only read if you're Clay or Ouen!
What two beasts have you done? I've done the Zora and Garudo beasts. I don't want to say anything specific about them until I know which ones you've done, because I don't want to spoil anything for you.
I just love doing sidequests. Even if I just get rupees or a carrot or something as a reward, it's just so satisfying to help people!
