October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
Re: October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
I'm going to be playing Pokémon GO (it has monsters!), Pokémon Picross (it has monsters!), and Destiny: Rise of Iron.

Re: October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
I'm nearly two-thirds through the Evil Within. It is starting to bother me - the story is starting to come together but, on top of that, there's an awful lot of nuances that are unsettling and subtle. Good stuff.
Beating it by the end of the month should be do-able. The trophies seem reasonable and fun so I may platinum it but there's no way that'll be done before the end of the month.
I have not started watching any Alien movies though I did retrieve them from a box in my garage. I may buy a couple of old horror movies on Amazon for the old digital library and for watching.

I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

Re: October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
Although I wasn't thinking about it at the time, I sort of got my October gaming started with Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. It's so lighthearted, though, that I hardly think of it as fitting the theme. I also beat Bayonetta which features a witch, but it's also in no way a horror game.
In the past, I've done romps of Castlevania and Ghosts'n Goblins to varying levels of success, but this time I'm taking the opportunity to finally beat a game in a series that is high in the running (up there with Final Fantasy) among the game series that I am most surprised I still have never finished a member of: Resident Evil.
I tried my hand at 4, but I started it so close to the time that I got a 360 that I ended up being distracted by the latter and never finished it. Later sold it because this was when I was at the age where my parents made me get rid of games before they'd let me get new ones (they didn't understand collecting; why keep a game you've already finished?). Thinking about it, it must be one of the last games I ever got rid of from my collection. Huh.
Anyway, yes, I've never beaten a Resident Evil game despite being a pretty big fan of most all of Capcom's major franchises. Like Vic, I picked the HD remaster of the GameCube remake of Resident Evil 1 as the game with which to finally do so. I tend to prefer to use series firsts as my entry point unless there's some deeply compelling reason not to. Quite the opposite, it seems that most folks have nothing but praise for this GCN remaster (and subsequent HD port). I even waited long enough for them to put it on a physical disk along with the remaster of RE0, so if I like this one, I'll have another game to enjoy.
Lots of digression there. Point is I'm playing Resident Evil Remake for Halloween. Should be fun. May marathon it over the weekend. If I do, I may stream too. If so, I'll drop a link in chat if anyone wants to take a peek at my progress.

Resident Evil is also a series that I want to get into more, especially the infamous number 4. I have beaten a game in the series though - Resident Evil Revelations, which I thought was pretty rad.Claytone wrote:Although I wasn't thinking about it at the time, I sort of got my October gaming started with Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Re: October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
I've since beaten Evil Within (twice) and collected everything, I'm doing my speed run now. After that, I'll do a no upgrades run.
Chapter 7 of 15. 2:33 out of 5:00.

Re: October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
This year I'm going to focus on a few games: Outlast 2 (God help me), PS4; Fatal Frame 2 - PS2C; Last of Us, PS3.
Each of these I've played before at least a little. Wanted to see if I can finish them this time as Halloween approaches.
Does anyone else have some fun creepy games they're planning to play in October? Let us know here!

Every year I list the games I plan to play for October and every year I play none of them :p
Maybe Axiom Verge? Does that have monsters in it?

It's not a scary game, but I'll probably get back into my Breath of the Wild file for Octoroktober.
And actually, it is a pretty scary game. Maybe I'll commit to only playing at night.

Re: October Gaming - Be Very Afraid
Last year I played the Resident Evil Remake and it was awesome. One of my favorite gaming experiences.
Not sure what I'll play this year, but I'll have to do something fun. Still plenty of time to decide.

Every year I list what I plan to play, every year I fail to attempt a single one of them. This year I'll officially abstain and see what happens.
