Beaten:
1/11 - Ghosts'n Goblins (PS3 [Arcade])
2/5 - Turok (Switch)
2/8 - Garou: Mark of the Wolves (PSN [Arcade])
2/17 - Makaimura for WonderSwan (WonderSwan)
3/3 - Bust-A-Move Pocket (Neo Geo Pocket Color)
3/7 - Luigi's Mansion 3 (Switch)
3/10 - Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition (PSN [Sega CD])
3/22 - Marvel's Spider-Man (PS4)
3/23 - Dragon Quest (Switch [NES])
3/26 - Panzer Dragoon: Remake (Switch)
4/4 - Doom 64 (Switch)
4/21 - Tearaway (PS Vita)
4/24 - Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)
5/1 - Streets of Rage 4 (PSN [PS4])
5/20 - Bare Knuckle III (Steam [Mega Drive])
5/21 - Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (GameCube)
5/23 - Forza Horizon 3: Horizon Hot Wheels (Xbone [DLC])
5/26 - Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition (Xbone)
7/2 - Star Wars Episode I: Racer (PSN [N64])
7/5 - Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition (Switch [Wii])
7/11 - Dragon Quest II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line (Switch [NES])
7/16 - Virtual Boy Wario Land (VB)

Finally got around to purchasing a Virtual Boy, and with it was included what is widely regarded as its best game. Don't know if the consensus is true, but it is certainly a good one! As with many (most?) VB games, I'm not sure this game had any real need or justification for being on Nintendo's failed system, but the 3D is at least convincing in the instances where it is used. The rest of the game is fairly standard Wario Land fare. Platform around looking for treasure. You can do a lot worse than this game.

I got I think the second worst ending, so I may try to get the remaining treasures and get one of the good endings. We'll see. At least I at long last have at least one iteration of every Nintendo console, even if this one will probably just end up on display for most of its life due to its small and expensive library.

Completed:
1/11 - Ghosts'n Goblins (PS3 [Arcade])
3/3 - Bust-A-Move Pocket (Neo Geo Pocket Color)
3/14 - Night Trap: 25th Anniversary Edition (PSN [Sega CD])
3/22 - Tearaway (PS Vita)
7/2 - Star Wars Episode I: Racer (PSN [N64])

Final Fantasy X - I adored the story and traveling around was fun but the combat was a real let down it felt very slow and boring. Plus their were too many status ailments to keep track of plus actions never seemed to go through instantly which made me try and heal dead people which was a waste of items. I still really adored this game however.

NieR: Automata - one of my easy top 10 games ever. The story is amazing and the 3rd playthrough is great. Best ost by fair I've ever heard and the combat is fun. Highly highly recommend (and also recommend playing through 3 times)

7/16 - Virtual Boy Wario Land (VB)
7/26 - Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation (Switch[NES])

Well, I expected this to be my favorite so far, and it was! This is a right proper RPG. With its class system and customizable party, this is a game I could very easily see myself replaying one day. On the other hand, I've got some 7 other Dragon Quests to get to, so maybe not.

Anyway, yeah I loved it. What a charming series. Probably taking a break from DQ for now, but I'm a fan for sure and will return to it.

Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night
Resident Evil 2 Remake (A+B scenario)
Star Wars Fallen Jedi
A Way Out
Borderlands 3 + 2 DLC packs
Resident Evil 3 Remake (4 times including Nightmare)
Animal Crossing
Gears 4
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
MW2 Remaster
Dark Souls Remaster (+DLC)
Limbo
Resident Evil 4 (Pro)
Resident Evil 0
Sonic Adventure 2 - Hero mode (Found the controls, camera and cutscenes too terrible to go back and do dark mode)
Shantae Pirate's Curse
Dark Souls 2
Shantae Half Genie Hero
Dark Souls 3 + DLC

This is the order I've beaten these games in.
I was particularly pleased with the Dark Souls series, Shantae (although Pirate's Curse was way better than HGH), and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night

What an underrated game! When you finally get to grips with the controls and work out how to keep the combos going throughout the levels it's so much fun. Love wailing on the bosses too

Yeah it's really a lot of fun once you get past that initial learning curve. It's (appropriately) practically a rhythm game if you really start getting in a groove. A one-of-a-kind game for sure.

Jan 03. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Switch)
Jan 10. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker DLC (Switch)
Jan 10. Defunct (Switch)
Jan 20. Outer Wilds (XBO)
Feb 14. Donut County (Switch)
Feb 22. Fire Emblem Three Houses: Cindered Shadows
Apr 04. Mighty Switch Force (3DS)
May 04. Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch)
May 08. Fire Emblem Three Houses: Golden Deer (Switch)
Jun 27. The Last of Us Part II (PS4)
Aug 05. Paper Mario The Origami King (Switch)

Latest paper Mario ended up being a very enjoyable game. It's still it's own thing, but it definitely leaned towards classic paper Mario in a lot of ways. Felt like a full adventure compared to the previous two games.

Carrion was pretty cool, you take the roll of a terrifying all consuming alien that slithers through the vents and kills everyone in sight. Made for a novel metroidvania!

I had played a small snippet of Alan Wake when it originally came out, something really pulled me to try it again now and I'm glad I did. The game holds up unfairly well and tells an endorsing, albeit campy, horror story.
