Huge fan of the mario and luigi games through the years, so I was happy to see them come back in a new game. Honestly always wondered what the series would look like on a home console.

Combat in the game is as great as ever, and despite a new developer it was nice to see so many callbacks to previous games, from deliberate references to animations of the characters themselves. The game has a lot of charm. I do think it was about 10 hours too long (took me 45 hours to finish) and the script is (imo) not as funny as previous games in the series. Still, great entry this series.

2024-11-26 - Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon (PS5) - First run through this solid Castlevania homage. Looks like I have to beat it a few more times for more endings/difficulty modes, but it's short and fun. Finished Nightmare mode as well. The different characters add slightly different abilities that let you reach different areas in the stages or tackle the bosses in different ways, so much of the challenge of the various endings will just be doing things differently.
