2016 Game Clear Thread

I just beat the main story mode of Knightmare Tower, a cute get better at doing something infinitely game by Juicy Beast, very comparable to a vertical version of their excellent Burrito Bison games. Now I've unlocked Survival Mode, and I'll need to clear 30 Quests in there as well as unlock everything in the store for completion.

Probably my favorite of the Halo games I've played so far. I think that's mostly because it focuses on more believable and interesting characters than Chief. Plus, the story takes a pretty significantly different angle. Fun game.

I beat Little Inferno on Steam. I didn't know if the game would actually have an ending, but it did. I found all the combos, too, so as far as I know, that's everything there is to do in that game.

Was at the cabin with friends over the weekend and managed to finish NSMBU in about an hour or so.

Fire Emblem Fates: Cleared Conquest with everything except the last two stages on hard mode. At the very end I got lazy and switched to normal mode preemptively. Cleared all stages except the end on Birthright. I lost interest in the game at that point. Cleared much of Revelations but then got tired of the game completely.

Xenoblade X: Cleared main game. Did lots of sidequests but did not quite 100%.

Dragonforce: Finished with Gongos and started playthroughs with others but did not finish those.

Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence: Cleared multiple playthroughs as multiple clans, including many shitty ones and on the highest difficulty.

Renowned Explorers: Finished multiple times with multiple characters. Achieved highest explorer score with Earl as Captain.

Rabi-Ribi: Finished main and post game on normal mode. Finished 0% items run on casual, but only in the main game.

Thea: The Awakening: Finished main quest with Svarog and Mokosh. Finished main and giant quest with Morena. Unlocked entire pantheon.

Political Machine 2016: Elected President as custom character, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders on both real and randomized settings.

Freedom Planet: Cleared game with Lilac on Adventure Mode. Currently doing a playthrough with Milla.

I played but did not complete many other games.

Lovely game hampered significantly by one of the most tedious and boring end boss sequences I've ever encountered in 30 years of avid gaming. It's not enough to keep me from recommending to fans of games like Zelda 2, Faxanadu and Monsterland, but it seriously soured the whole experience for me. The boss is neither difficult nor clever, but if you get caught in a bad rut with its patterns, the entire ordeal can last close to 40 minutes (most of that time spent waiting).

What a masterpiece! I started playing Doom (4), and as often happens when I start a new series, I decided quickly that I needed to give the series proper treatment and start at the start. I've actually owned Doom on XBLA for years, but the first time I played it, it gave me motion sickness (in hindsight, since nothing else in the world gives me motion sickness, I may have just been ill), and I never returned to it. Well, turns out it no longer ails me, and I love it! Definitely have the itch to go back and knock out the new Doom. After that, it's back to the past to try out Doom II (and give its extensive and still active modding community a look). Not that my recommendation means anything to a game whose reputation has already been so thoroughly cemented, but if anyone here hasn't given this a try, there's no time like today.

This game was a vast improvement over its predecessors. Fun romp through the Star Wars universe with an absolute bevvy of post-game content (and achievements to pursue). Traveler's Tales really has a great formula here.
