Just beat the game at around the 80 hour mark. Still lots left to do in the game, but I really wanted to get resolution on the main quest before Persona 5 comes out next week (!!!!), and since I'm out of town (sans Switch) starting Wednesday night through Sunday, my time was running out. I feel satisfied with how widely I explored Hyrule, but I'll be sure to fill in some of my side-questing gaps with any gaming time I do manage to sneak in before P5 is finally here.

Won't comment much on the final sequence, etc. I'll let y'all enjoy that one on your own.

However, I will say one thing that I definitely think improved my experience with the game (and that I think is prone to be missed by some) that is sort of tangentially related to end-game, but that I hope no one will consider too spoilery. Out of an abundance of caution, I will <spoiler> it, but I think only the most extremely spoiler-sensitive of people would even consider it a spoiler.
Spoiler
It is simply that I'd advise everyone to thoroughly explore Hyrule Castle and its surroundings! And not just around end-game time, any time. It's as thoroughly detailed and intricate as any other area in the game, and exploring it pays off well too. In fact, it was perhaps one of my favorite areas to explore when spurts of daring and intrigue hit me throughout my time with the game.

Basically, don't think of it only as a place to head to finish the game. Think of it as a place just as deserving of your scrutiny as anywhere else. It's really cool!

I haven't beat the game, but I do agree with your spoiler! Definitely worth while. Question about the game, when you beat it and keep playing, does it recognize that you've done so or do you basically start where your last save was before presumably beating the final boss? If it does recognize that you've beat the game, I might do it sooner than intended. If not, I'll probably leave it for later.

Looks like the latest update improves the frame rate here and there on Switch.

As per most Zelda games, you can't save anytime from the point where you initiate the final boss, nor can you save once you've beaten it. You will revert to your pre-boss save via the title screen once you've beaten the game.

It's interesting when you spend a lot of time in one area, and when you finally leave the area, you're reminded of how much there is to this game and how much you've seen. Just spent days over in the desert, feels good to just jump on my horse and run through the green fields again.
I'm amazed you're only at the 60 shrines mark at 100+ hours! Have you done any of the divine beasts yet?

I didn't attempt any Divine Beasts until around the 80 hour mark though. I probably would have waited with the Zora beast as well, but I figured I may as well get it out of the way since it would be a big pain to explore the area through constant rain!

I'm now headed towards the Eldin and Alkala (sp?) regions, just lit up both respective towers. Interested to see if Tingle Island has anything of note.

Does anyone play with the shrine sensor on? I use the sensor for other materials, but never bothered using it with shrines.

Just got the shrine sensor at the second tower on my way to Kakariko village. It's on by default, but I guess that changes at some point in the game?

If you open your map, I think you can toggle it off by pressing Y.

I leave mine on. Obviously some are in plain sight, but it was already helpful for a few sneaky shrines. Gave me just enough of a hint to thoroughly explore walls and such.
