Next season, Clay surprises everyone by actually showing up for the draft and winning 1st place!
Did you read about Jimmy Vesey refusing to report to Nashville? He's a college player (just finished at Harvard), and he'll be eligible for free agency this summer if he doesn't report, even though Nashville drafted him. Weird loophole.

Ha, I'm fine with my Preds only team. If nothing else, it's an amusing control group.
And yeah, pretty odd about Vesey. Seems like kind of a dick move. I have to imagine there's some underlying incentive to make that call, but I just don't really know what it might be after establishing a four year (reportedly positive) relationship with the Preds. I'm sure we'll find out what's going on eventually.

Most people seem to think he's holding out for free agency, but I don't think he has sinister intentions. I think he simply wanted to finish his Harvard degree and make the most of his college years. Surprisingly level-headed decision for a kid who dreams of playing in the NHL.
Here's quite a nice article he wrote for the Players' Tribune.

Ah, okay reading that cleared up some things. I was initially under the impression that the timetable he had with Nashville would still allow him to finish at Harvard. I guess not. In that case, I totally understand his decision. I always admire guys that finish their degrees before heading off to the pros, despite the risks that entails.

Slurm, Turris missed his 20th game last night, so you'll have until before Wednesday's games to pick your substitute if you'd like to swap him out.

You will pass me in fantasy once you sub a player in.

Wait until Wednesday then put whomever has the most points into the lineup in exchange for Turris.
If Monahan and Okposo are tied in points on Wednesday put in Okposo (Unless Okposo is injured) as he will be playing an extra game between wednesday and end of season.
That okay or do I have to come back on Wednesday and Manually pick?

I can follow these instructions.

Well, Vic picked up 7 points last night in one game alone, so that ship has sailed. All I can do now is hope to desperately cling to 2nd place!
