Second place is Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES, 1989).

Third place is a tie between Super Castlevania IV (SNES, 1991) and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (GBA, 2003).

Mildly surprised that III beat IV, but this is a pretty nice final batch. Two great 'vanias and two classic 'vanias.
