I hadn't played my Vita in awhile, but I saw Tearaway at a local used game store, and it reminded me that I'd never actually played one of the Vita's few major 1st party releases. Really glad I dusted it off for this one. What Tearaway lacks in thrilling gameplay it makes up for in charm and creativity. The entire host of PS Vita features are on display here, and that really makes the game a joy. I know there are several Vita owners on TONe. If any of the rest of you didn't get around to it, I'd say give it a shot. I can't imagine the PS4 version holds up given its lack of key Vita features, so play it on the system it was designed for. You won't regret it.
This game also has a manageable platinum, so it may become my third platinum of the year. We shall see!

This marks the first game I've beaten on my new Analogue Mega Sg (aftermarket Genesis with lagless HD). Really like the device, and I really liked this game. At a time when Konami was known for more than just pachinko, they had a pinballing, rocket-powered, Genesis-exclusive opossum protagonist just as fun and exciting to play as Sega's first party mascot. Sparkster feels great to control, and I loved the varied and challenging bosses. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to dig back into the great Genesis library.

Blasted through this on Normal with our buddy Share. Had a great time. I think he did too aside from me accidentally killing him in the last level.
Really enjoyed it. It's probably the best in the series. The dev team *really* captured that SoR feel, and the hand-drawn art on top of this engine is a dream. Throw in a soundtrack that achieves the same heights as its predecessors, and you've got yourself a winner.
This is gonna be one playthrough of many, I expect. I'm already starting another.

Although I recently purchased a cartridge of SoR3, I also downloaded an English language Bare Knuckle III mod of Streets of Rage 3 off Steam so I could play the game as it was ostensibly meant to be played. In that version, it's quite good! Gone are the absurd boss health bars, cranked up difficulty levels, and punishing enemy damage output. The only negative is the arguably homophobic miniboss in the first level, which Sega wisely nixed internationally.
These Genesis mods on Steam are pretty neat! Definitely something I'm interested in looking more into, especially since the games are just a dollar apiece. Not much of an asking price to play around with them. Cool move by Sega.
