After seeing a couple of you being forced to play Celeste for the Santa thread I decided to boot it up again last night. Still a phenomenal game start to finish.

First Santa challenge complete! I had a save from when I just beat the hotel level, but I went back and replayed those first stages to reacquaint myself with the controls. I also beat the PICO-8 version of Celeste. All told that's the game beat with 130/175 strawbz, 2229 deaths, in 16:42:18.979.

I'll keep playing a bit to collect more strawbs and other collectibles I missed, but I'm in no hurry to complete this one. Moving on to bigger and better things. Thanks for the challenge, Clay!

Already beat my two PS5 games! I really enjoyed both of them. Astro is the ruthlessly charming platformer everyone said it was, and the concentration of smiles and fun I had in its ~4hr to Platinum runtime was high indeed. Miles was an impressive iteration on the gameplay of Spidey, and I bet it'll pick up in sales once it gets its first price drop. Personally, I thought the story length was just fine, but I am not the average consumer of such titles. Plus, I think this game's story tackled more important topics than the first, which was nice to see. Highly recommend.

So with this year over I beat 27 games and completed 2. Which surprisingly is the lowest amount of games I've beaten in the last five years! Especially interesting given the nature of this year leading to more time spent inside. But I also got a house this year and did a whole wack of renovations. Different priorities I guess!
