Starting the year off with a big one. After not getting into Witcher 3 on PS4 I thoroughly enjoyed the game on Switch, performance cut backs and all. First game I can honestly say I really care about the story from the main quests to the side quests. Very well done.

This dethrones Ghouls'n Ghosts as the hardest game I've ever beaten. I hated it, but more importantly, I loved it. And yes, I beat both laps.

2/5 - Turok (Switch)

Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, like all N64 FPS games, was a game I missed on its initial release. It still holds up all right. I think the levels are generally way too long, and a couple of the enemies are a bit cheap, but overall, I enjoyed it. The payoff for collecting the various pieces of the game's superweapon is nice too. It's a primitive FPS, but it gets the basics right. Still, it can't hold a candle to Perfect Dark, which remains my favorite N64 shooter. Like Perfect Dark, though, it benefits hugely from a rerelease on a modern console. Silky smooth frame rates, anti-aliasing, and modern draw distances go a long way to making these games look and feel great, even without changing the models and textures. I hope more games from the early 3D era get this treatment.

Bought this in a Limited Run Games combo pack with Turok 2, so I imagine I'll be playing that soon too. Will be interesting to see how (and if) they improve on the original.

Managed to beat the story mode after countless tries against the tough final boss. Good game! This was a staple at my fraternity house for awhile, at least early on in my college years. Don't think the MAME cab we had before is there anymore. Or maybe it's just not on it. In any case, a fun game. Hoping I can play with some old friends sometime.
