#BGE2020 - Round 1 - Pool 35

Welcome to the first round of #BGE2020 pools!
Each game is randomly seeded into pools using the set generator at Random.org. There's no seeding, no ranking, and no preference or prioritization.
The results of the pools will determine how each game stacks up in the elimination rounds, coming later this year.
HOW TO VOTE
Voting is ranked, but it's not super intuitive, so listen up.
- You have 6 total votes to distribute.
- You can only select up to 3 options.
- You can only give each option up to 3 votes.
- NOTE: The number you pick is not the RANK of your choice (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but the number of VOTES you're giving it.
- The more votes (bigger numbers) a game gets, the better for that game.
EXAMPLES
- You could pick three games and order them by giving them 3, 2, and 1 votes.
- If you like three games equally, you could give them 2, 2, and 2 votes.
- If you only like two games, you could give them 3 and 3 votes (or 3 and 2, etc.).
This gives you a lot of granularity for how you assign your votes and thereby a lot of influence over which games can do well. Use your power wisely!
If you have questions,
ask before voting!

I threw A Boy and His Blob a vote even though its not the superior original. Also gave Yoshi’s Island votes as it’s one of my favorite Mario games. And my favorite 2D one.

Again, I didn't cast a max-vote here, but I did vote for Boy+Blob. I agree with Share that the original is better, but this one is pretty cute, and a good effort from WayForward.

Love Yoshi's Island. Daytona rules too. Threw my last vote to GTAIV. I don't really love GTA games as much anymore, but I spent SO much time on them in my teens that I feel the need to acknowledge that. Playing GTAIV as one of my first HD games on my first HD console (even if I was playing on an SDTV) felt like I was finally playing "big boy" games. Again, I eventually outgrew that notion, but it consumed countless adolescent hours, so I still appreciate it. Plus, to this day, whenever I ask our buddy Forscyvus to go bowling, I usually do it in Roman Bellic's voice. That's gotta count for something!

What console is the original boy and his blob on? I loved the 2009 one. Think I played it on Ps4. I remember hearing about it on vc forums back in the days.

The original was on NES. It's harder than the new one. Puzzle platformer with more figuring-stuff-out and limited lives.

I imagine it being much harder to compensate for the lack of space on the cart.

I couldn't get into the original Boy and His Blob, but really enjoyed the Wii one. Had its issues, but it was a solid game. Bonus points for the mechanically useless but super adoroable "hug" button.

Pretty sure you're required to hug the blob when you first meet it
