Welcome to the first round of #BGE2020 pools!

Each game is randomly seeded into pools using the set generator at Random.org. There's no seeding, no ranking, and no preference or prioritization.

The results of the pools will determine how each game stacks up in the elimination rounds, coming later this year.

HOW TO VOTE

Voting is ranked, but it's not super intuitive, so listen up.
  • You have 6 total votes to distribute.
  • You can only select up to 3 options.
  • You can only give each option up to 3 votes.
  • NOTE: The number you pick is not the RANK of your choice (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but the number of VOTES you're giving it.
  • The more votes (bigger numbers) a game gets, the better for that game.
EXAMPLES
  • You could pick three games and order them by giving them 3, 2, and 1 votes.
  • If you like three games equally, you could give them 2, 2, and 2 votes.
  • If you only like two games, you could give them 3 and 3 votes (or 3 and 2, etc.).
This gives you a lot of granularity for how you assign your votes and thereby a lot of influence over which games can do well. Use your power wisely!

If you have questions, ask before voting! :neon:

Rondo of Blood gets my 3 easily, followed by the very good Bloodborne. Chinatown Wars upsets Mega Man for me. MM1 is simply too much worse than its successors to really be worth revisiting for me, so that was the deciding factor. Chinatown Wars, meanwhile, made masterful use of the DS hardware to bring a true GTA experience to the underpowered device. A real achievement. Really enjoyed it.

Also, if I could give negative points, I'd give 'em to Fallout 3.

The thing that makes MM1 worthy of a vote is its pretty cool system of tackling bosses in whatever order you choose and taking their weapons. Pretty neat, but yes, subsequent games improved on it vastly. This pool is too stacked for it to get my vote.

Bloodborne obviously. Great game and I had a great time secretly platting it a couple summers ago.

I enjoyed Fallout 3. I think it just came along at the right time for me.

Super Ninja Boy gets my last vote. It's a fucking awesome (for its time...) multiplayer platforming fighting game RPG. Kind of like River City Ransom in some ways.

Einhänder, Mega Man, and Rondo got my votes.

Einhãnder is one of the best shooters of that generation. Mega Man is a wonderful game I still go back to. I agree its sequels were often better, but it still had a huge impact and is great fun besides. Rondo is great too but a little too hard IMO. But I voted for it anyway. I’ll beat it someday.

Kingdom Hearts gets a single vote from me for great music and being a different style of rpg. Game overall isn't fantastic.
