#BGE2020 - Round 2 - Pool 10

Welcome to the second round of #BGE2020 pools!

Each game is randomly seeded into pools using the sequence generator at Random.org. There's no seeding, no ranking, and no preference or prioritization.

The results of the pools will determine how each game stacks up in the elimination rounds, coming... realistically in early 2021.

HOW TO VOTE

Voting is ranked, but it's not super intuitive, so listen up.
  • You have 6 total votes to distribute.
  • You can only select up to 3 options.
  • You can only give each option up to 3 votes.
  • NOTE: The number you pick is not the RANK of your choice (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but the number of VOTES you're giving it.
  • The more votes (bigger numbers) a game gets, the better for that game.
EXAMPLES
  • You could pick three games and order them by giving them 3, 2, and 1 votes.
  • If you like three games equally, you could give them 2, 2, and 2 votes.
  • If you only like two games, you could give them 3 and 3 votes (or 3 and 2, etc.).
This gives you a lot of granularity for how you assign your votes and thereby a lot of influence over which games can do well. Use your power wisely!

If you have questions, ask before voting! :neon:

Botw (3)
I rediscovered this game while streaming and it turned from an easy 0 to a 3. It's still a terrible zelda game but the artstyle is perfect and exploring it fun.

Stardew Valley (3)
I never got hooked into this game but it was a lot of fun still. Probably a game I stop voting for soon.

Tough one for me! BOTW is obvious but tomodachi and Stardew are great as well

Gotta give props to Breath of the WIld here. It gave a breath of fresh air to the stagnant Zelda formula and as a result is one of the best entries in the series.

Also voted for Streets of Rage for being a classic beamup.

I wish I liked Zelda games...

Anyway, I went with the nearly perfect SoR2 and the apparently under-appreciated M&MVIII

Have you tried botw? it doesn't feel at all like a zelda game.

No and although I have a switch am not interested. I kind of liked Twilight Princess and A Link to the Past, but not enough to ever complete them or even play them more than once.... Zelda II was fun too, but, again, I only played it once. The first one I played twice but it was well after it was contemporary so I didn’t experience it while it was new-ish. Twilight Princess was the first one I beat... maybe I got to them too late....

3 each for BotW and SoR2. Wouldn't have felt comfortable cutting votes from either. I love them too much. Pokemon SuMo and Metal Slug X are good, but they're nowhere near the two I voted for.

Never been big on Zelda, with one key exception. Breath of the Wild was a masterpiece.

Metal Slug here is a great example of why we're doing two rounds of round robins.

It got 9 votes to finish FIRST PLACE in its Round 1 pool, but it only got a single vote here. The composition of the pools can make a HUGE difference in how many votes a game gets, so having two rounds allows a game that might get the shaft in one round to have a chance of better match-ups in another.
