#BGE2020 - Round 2 - Pool 68

Welcome to the second round of #BGE2020 pools!

Each game is randomly seeded into pools using the sequence generator at Random.org. There's no seeding, no ranking, and no preference or prioritization.

The results of the pools will determine how each game stacks up in the elimination rounds, coming... realistically in early 2021.

HOW TO VOTE

Voting is ranked, but it's not super intuitive, so listen up.
  • You have 6 total votes to distribute.
  • You can only select up to 3 options.
  • You can only give each option up to 3 votes.
  • NOTE: The number you pick is not the RANK of your choice (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd), but the number of VOTES you're giving it.
  • The more votes (bigger numbers) a game gets, the better for that game.
EXAMPLES
  • You could pick three games and order them by giving them 3, 2, and 1 votes.
  • If you like three games equally, you could give them 2, 2, and 2 votes.
  • If you only like two games, you could give them 3 and 3 votes (or 3 and 2, etc.).
This gives you a lot of granularity for how you assign your votes and thereby a lot of influence over which games can do well. Use your power wisely!

If you have questions, ask before voting! :neon:

I can't believe Deception has been going this far under the radar so far in this event. It's a pretty neat game, an early example of the genre where you play a dungeon-keeper trying to trap people coming in, but it plays more like a hands-on RPG than a sim or dungeon-building strategy game.

My other big vote was for Monster Boy.

Mainly because this bracket is a pretty saggy one overall.

Code Veronica was on the DC, is Code Veronica X represented separately in this ?

No, this is the only Co:Vero in the tournament. Whoever nominated it only mentioned the GCN version, but this entry can stand for any of them IMO. I'll update the master list entry to say Resident Evil Code: Veronica (Multiplatform)

Loaded bracket. If it wasn't for the DKC games here, I would've been able to give Toy Story 2 more votes. Toy Story 2 was a really good 3D platformer for a licensed game in that era.

This was a difficult bracket for me. Ended up giving equal votes to the games I've spent the most time on.
- Zelda Skyward Sword is one of the few Zelda's that I've completed
- Trackmania DS is almost as good as it's Wii counterpart, had some good fun with it
- Played DCK2 less than the first one, but more than DCK TF, Monster boy and Dillons rolling western
Didn't play PoPTT on PS2 but if it wasn't for the other games I might have given it 1 vote.
