Gamecube or wii.
I own a Wii and am never going to use it for Wii games again now that I have a Wii U would there be any benefit in downgrading to a gamecube?

On one hand, GCN can use the Game Boy Player, while I don't think the Wii can. On the other hand, your Wii can now safely be modded to play international Wii games if you so desired.Slurmee wrote:I own a Wii and am never going to use it for Wii games again now that I have a Wii U would there be any benefit in downgrading to a gamecube?

Neither really appeals to me.Kong Wen wrote:On one hand, GCN can use the Game Boy Player, while I don't think the Wii can. The gamecube has the advantage of not having to have wiimotes lying around to start the console as IIRC you need a wiimote to select the gamecube game as you can't with the GCN controller.

I know you can start it without a Wii mote but I'm not sure about navigating the Wii home screen or whatever without one. It should be easy to test, though.Slurmee wrote:Neither really appeals to me.Kong Wen wrote:On one hand, GCN can use the Game Boy Player, while I don't think the Wii can. I’ve been waiting for the sun to come up. Waiting for the showers to stop. Waiting for the penny to drop. One time. And I’ve been standing in a cloud of plans. Standing on the shifting sands. Hoping for an open hand. One time.

So is it as simple as insert GCN disc turn on we and it automaticly loads? Or do you need to press A on the GCN controller? Or what?Sharecrow wrote:I know you can start it without a Wii mote but I'm not sure about navigating the Wii home screen or whatever without one.
