A few more beats done!

Phantasy Star is super cool, and I'm glad I finally played it. The SEGA AGES version features a host of quality of life improvements that make it much more playable by today's standards. I honestly thing Ages mode may have made it a bit *too* easy, but I can always revisit it on the original difficulty if I so choose. Regardless, I'd be leaving the auto-mapper on for dungeons for sure! Great little sci-fi JRPG.

Space Jam game was a dumb freebie that I beat in under an hour. Probably could've used my time better, but probably could've used it worse too!

Daytona is a timeless racing game with a banging soundtrack. Can't believe it took me this long to beat it. I'm sure I'll revisit it many times over the years. It's also the first game I beat on my new Series X (lol).

Digimon Cyber Sleuth - Really fun game with the worst difficulty settings. Normal is stupidly easy, Hard is stupidly hard. I played most of the game on Hard until I got stuck on a boss that kept OHKOing all my digimon and there was like 10 minutes of button mashing between the boss and save it really just killed the mood. Other than that complaint I really loved the game. The story is interesting (though some characters overly sexualized) and the battling is fun. De-volving is a really cool concept that helps you get more moves which I loved on the surface but found annoying having to look at guides to work out how to give X digimon Y move. It's no masterpiece but I got it for like $5 on the vita so was well worth it.

Pokemon Soulsilver - Finally beat this game (or atleast the Johto section) Silver on GBC was one of my first ever games so I love it. SoulSilver is even better and added a lot of cool features. It's one of the best Pokemon games and the best pokemon remake ever.

The Last of Us Remastered - Extremely story driven game that I found fun mainly for the story though. While combat was polished and nice I found it to be not the highlight of the game and without the great story to back it up I don't think I would have enjoyed it. Not sure if I should try TLOU2 it's getting amazing reviews and horrible reviews but I'm unsure if people are just being anti lgbt+ or actually find the game bad.

Really happy with my progress this year and how I'm not buying any games. I still have a big backlog and a decent sized backlog of games I still want to play but hopefully I can get through it all in the next 18~ months before picking up a PS5 in 2023 or 2024 when they're hopefully much cheaper.

Skyward Sword is much improved on switch. Mainly due to a more accessible control scheme and QOL fixes that make the game a much less tedious experience. With those fixes the game functions as a nice traditional Zelda game. It still has some quarks with that, namely only have three main areas you constantly come back to. I'm glad I got to play it again though.

The Last of Us - Left Behind - I feel like this should have been a movie instead of DLC it wasn't very long and the only interesting parts were the stuff with

Riley and Ellie

which had no combat anyway. However I loved the story and I got the DLC for free with the complete edition.

Scribblenauts - This game was very meh/ok. It's dated and you tend to just reuse a ton of stuff over and over again however I did beat everyone level at least once so it was addictive enough to at least finish. It feel very much like a free mobile game standard wise these days.

Spyro the Dragon - So I bought this a decade ago or something and played it on PS3 and dropped it very very very quickly I found the first area really boring and the game to look like garbage. Fast forward to about a week ago and I decide to try it again but this time on the vita and I loved it. The first area is very big empty and open but after you get off that area everything is is much more interesting. I had a ton of fun playing this and it's quiet an enjoyable complete. (120%) For a PS1 game I was quiet surprised with the level of detail as well. Can't wait to try Spyro 2 and 3 at some point.

Super Mario 64 - HD: I get why it's considered a masterpiece and it would have been at launch but wow is it shit now. The camera is horrible and just ruins the game completely. Coming from Odyssey and Sunshine movement sucks without the FLUUD or Cappy. It's easily the worst 3D mario I've played even 3D Land/World had controls that works.

The Witness: Really cool game. I wish there was a proper tutorial explaining stuff or if the game was more linear since I was constantly at a complete lose with how certain things worked and sometimes it was because I was in the wrong area and I don't think I ever would have finished it without a guide. However I tried to make sure I never used the guide to solve the puzzle only to work out the mechanics.

Three more beats! It's tough to keep up with the game clear thread when I force myself to write blog posts first lol.

All these games are great. Baseball Stars is one of the best baseball games I've ever played and an absolute blast to credit-feed my way through. Panzer Dragoon Orta is a great rail shooter and probably the best of that genre in the Panzer Dragoon series. I can finally play pirated Saturn games now, too, so maybe it's time to play Saga?

Last but definitely not least, I finally beat Shin Megami Tensei III! I promised a friend years ago that I would play this game, one of their favorites of all time. I don't think it had quite the same impact on me as it did them, but it's a damn fine RPG nevertheless.

What's more, it got me back into DMC! I expect DMC2 will be my next beat. The internet couldn't convince me to stay away. I'll judge for myself if it sucks, I guess!

Devil May Cry 2 sucked as its reputation suggested. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 3 was even better than its reputation led me to believe. One of the best games I've played this year for sure.

Halo: Reach was certainly more Halo. A competent shooter with a competent sci-fi military story. Knocked that out in preparation for Infinite. I've still got Halo 5: Guardians to take care of as well.
