The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Interestingly I didn't enjoy this game as much as I expected to. It was a game that's been mentioned as amazing a classic 10/10 and it fell short of that for me. However it was still 2d zelda with an interesting story. I think A Link Between Worlds is a much better game though. However it's still a steal of a game to play for "free" on switch
Dragon Quest Builders - Surprisingly loved this game. Only a few minor complaints really. 1. Chapter 1/2/3 were very similar so it got a bit repetitive, 2. Moving areas made me care less about how I built my towns since I was going to move away from them anyway which really killed the building vibe. 3. Challenges that required you to beat the chapter in X days instantly made me not care about challenges. The other challenges seemed interesting but I could never finish them all unless I basically speed ran through the chapters instead of enjoying the game. Outside of those minor issues the game was really fun. The short quests made you saying ok just one more and the combat was simple and fun. exploring the areas always felt fresh and the game did a good job of explaining where to go or what to do.
Yoku's Island Express - Got this free from Epic Game store (It's still free now). I loved this game it's like metroid but pinball and it's such a simple concept but it just oozes with charm. The dialogue is entertaining and the areas are lovely to look at and the music is addictive in a good way. Sadly I played an hour of this on Friday right before going to my GFs house (on my PC) so couldn't play it during the weekend however I think finished it off pretty fast on the Monday when I got back I was just so keen to play it again. It took me about 6 hours to beat while doing a bit of the side stuff however there's probably 7-8 hours to fully finish it however there felt like way to many collectibles for me to care.

With my self-imposed blog requirement, it seems like I only ever post my beaten games in batches of 3 now lol. Anyway, with these three, I've now tied my all time single-year high of 41 games beaten! Plenty of time to beat one more and set a new record (plenty of time to beat several more too!).
Ground Zero Texas: Nuclear Edition is a great remaster of a bad FMV game. It didn't manage to win me over like the silly-charming Night Trap did.
No More Heroes III is a flawed game with lots of charm, which is sort of Suda's trademark at this point. A solid end to the series even if maybe the worst one overall. Still pretty good.
Splinter Cell... man. I really wanted to like it, but I didn't! Series X backwards compatibility continues to impress, but I don't know if I have the patience to play the other Splinter Cell games on my backlog. Maybe I should just skip to Chaos Theory which I hear is much improved? Tough call.

I started superliminal on a whim as a game pass game and enjoyed it enough to see it through. It gives me Portal vibes, but doesn't hit the highs of Portal. Still it's main gimmick of perspective shifting remained interesting throughout. It was a nice short experience too.

Finally got around to blogging about these. DMC4 is a great game that doesn't quite measure up to 3 but is still good fun. Fighting Vipers is a nice little fighter that nevertheless doesn't do enough to separate itself from Virtua Fighter (likely the reason only one of the series remains active).
Those two beats make this my most productive year for beating video games ever! Plenty of time to keep it rolling too. It's a complicated feeling breaking this record, as I strongly believe there is more to life than video games. BUT they also matter a great deal to me, so beating a ton of them makes me feel good to. Plus, a lot of the games on this list are short, one-sitting games. Anyway, we'll see if I can crack 50!
