Happy New Year 2021! Well there’s alway something to be excited about in gaming, so here’s to another year of video game spending on current and upcoming releases. Hopefully it will be better than the previous year, as difficult as it was.
Kicking off the year with a Nintendo Switch blind box purchase from Limited Run Games from their blowout (I couldn’t get Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon as it was gone in a millisecond!). The box should hopefully ship in February.

January recap: Yo-kai Watch 4++ and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy arrived on 11 January; the games were purchased in 2020, but are listed here as a carry over, with no additional spending, unless there would’ve been an increase in the total. In the case, the difference would have been added. I would only list games under this if it was originally supposed to arrived in the same year as when it was purchased and shipped, and then indicated a carry over onto the next year if there were delays.
The blind boxes hopefully will ship in February but am expecting a longer wait, since this is LRG that I ordered from. February should also see a few new additions and repurchases.

February recap: Received a Nintendo eShop card for my birthday after being in quarantine for a few weeks due to a couple of people in the house tested positive, although I didn’t have it. They’re fine now. I got COLLECTION OF SaGa: FINAL FANTASY LEGEND, Starlink: Battle for Atlas — Deluxe Edition and the expansion pass from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Also received OKAMI HD (although I didn’t play it yet) and Super Bomberman R: Smile Price Collection, which was repurchased title-wise, but not region. The Smile Price collection is only for the cost itself (like Nintendo Selects and other similar lines). I’m a bit disappointed that the cart didn’t have at least version 2.0.0 on it (it had a new mode: Grand Prix I think), but 1.4.2, but I’ll keep it nonetheless.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Edition and Xenoblade Chronicles 2, I also repurchased brand new from Willow Video. The former title at the original price (or close) and it’s the launch day version. The latter was $20 more because it’s very hard to find, especially with Pyra and Mythra revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the recent Nintendo Direct presentation. It came with version 2.0.1 on the cart so it wasn’t far off from the latest version of the game, which is 2.1.0 at the time of writing. Though there’s no expansion pass stuff on it, but they probably would’ve announced it if they were including that, like Pokémon Sword & Pokémon Shield at a higher price point, but no they didn’t.
Also got the local copy of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury from EB in the mail and an Asia version of FINAL FANTASY IX that Willow Video actually had (the one where the box art is on the side). I didn’t have to wait a month for it at least if I had ordered it from Playasia myself.
Regarding March: LRG hopefully will begin shipping the blind box in the week or two (they just received them a couple days ago). BRAVELY DEFAULT II is on the way that EB shipped at close to release, hopefully receiving in the next couple days. The Asia version of FINAL FANTASY X / X-2 HD Remaster I ordered from Playasia is still on the way, but delayed into the country I presume. Hopefully will be cleared soon. Though Super Bomberman R or OKAMI HD arrived without saying it arrived in Canada so I guess I’ll wait and see.
There’s the physical version of HADES releasing in March. Other than that there’s nothing else (I didn’t order Monster Hunter Rise). The next game after HADES is probably New Pokémon Snap, and then there’s also the ASK IWATA book as well.

March Recap: Received during the month were Bravely Default II*, Mighty Gunvolt Burst (Limited Run Games physical version), FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster** (Asia version), Panzer Dragoon: Remake (Limited Run Games physical version), HADES* (physical version), and repurchased Pokémon Let’s Go, Pikachu!. [UPDATE 4.10: Forgot to mention that the Limited Run Games blind box from the New Year’s Day blowout arrived. It contained Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse.]
Notably ordered during March was Atelier Mysterious Trilogy, which one of the games in this collection I had the original local version sometime ago before trading that in. The collection releases later this month. Also ordered FINAL FANTASY VII & Final Fantasy VIII Remastered Twin Pack, SD Gundam Generation G Genesis and Atelier Dusk Trilogy, all which are Asia English versions). Then lastly there’s the Blaster Master Zero Trilogy, but might or might not cancel the Japanese version after the Asia version was announced. If there is a local version coming out, that would be even better, but nothing as of yet.
