The PS Plus preview on the PS Blog this week reveals that we're getting the mediocre Mutant Mudds Deluxe (PS3 & Vita) this week.

More interesting are the discounts:

• Castlestorm (Vita) for $4.89
• Dustforce for $5.59
• Dynasty Warriors 8: XL (PS3) for $19.59

This is my chance to snag Dustforce and OlliOlli after I missed them during their launch sales! As a shameless Koei nut, I'm also all over those DW8 games.

The list of PS Plus freebies for July is pretty solid:

• TowerFall Ascension (PS4)
• Strider (PS4)
• Dead Space 3 (PS3)
• Vessel (PS3) - I'm not sure what this is
• Muramasa Rebirth (Vita)
• Doki Doki Universe (Vita)

I already have most of these, but I'm very happy to see Strider on the list, because I was very close to buying it full price over the last couple of weeks. I wish I hadn't opened my CE of Muramasa now though...

All of these games go live next Tuesday (Sony isn't stringing us along throughout the month anymore).

Jeez that's my magic number for Dead Space 3. I may actually get it. I think I'll pass on Strider though...and keep my copy of Muramasa.

• Metrico (Vita)
• Dragon's Crown (Vita)

Road Not Taken is launching for free, basically. Fez and Proteus are both amazing and stylish indie games. Dragon's Crown is a AAA side-scrolling beat-em-up RPG in the vein of Guardian Heroes but with Vanilla style. I don't know anything about Metrico.

I've always balked at the idea of getting Dragon's Crown on a second platform, but now that they're making the Vita version free, I'll happily snag it!

All of these freebies go live on August 5th.

I'm definitely getting Proteus for my daughter and Road Not Taken for me. I'll probably grab Metrico too as it looks neat. I already have Fez - just need to get to it.

Actually I'll only get Proteus. Am not feeling the others...

Oh, Metrico is that infographic game where your button-presses affect the stats (and thereby platforms & behaviour of the world) on the screen! I'll definitely be getting that.

Also picking up Road Not Taken and Dragon's Crown on Vita. I already have the rest.

PS Blog is apparently confirming via comments on the article linked above that both PS3 and Vita versions of Dragon's Crown will be free, even though it's not cross-buy.

Joe Danger is a great fit on Vita, so I'll be scooping that one up for sure.

Well, it was only five bucks. There have been whole months before where all the games were ones I had just bought. Oh well!

I'm glad I held off on Sportsfriends, because that was another one that interested me but that I wasn't really ready to pay for.
