In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original PlayStation, Sony is releasing a 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 in the original PS1 grey, complete with a rainbow logo and everything! It's going to be a limited run of 12300. It will be available for pre-order starting on December 6th (which is this Saturday)—the perfect combination of holiday pressure and no lead-time to prompt many an impulse buy.

I mainly want one for this controller. I don't think I'll order a $500 system just for a nice controller, though. :neon:

That console is pretty hawt. They could at least bundle a game with it at that price. Maybe one that harkens back to the PS1 era like Knack was supposed to? I know it's a "collector's item" first, but still...

That price is just my guess / estimate based on current Canadian console prices and tax. Something like $399.99 USD + tax.

Oh, jeez, this is so cool. I would absolutely love to have one of these. Alas, I don't think it's in the cards. :\

I hope the DS4s are sold separately. Then I could at least get one of those (the best part, IMO).

That's my exact dilemma. I want one of those controllers so bad. They're definitely the best part.

The only thing that would make this way cooler (and make me instantly pay for it, no questions asked) would be if they replaced the PS4 boot-up sequence with the PS1 keytone:

You might not need $500 for that.

Not sure how the theme overall will look if it's all gray though.

Ha I was just about to say they would never bring that start up sequence back, but there you have it.

Wow... that console does look pretty sweet, but I'm totally drained out! :(
