I’ve been waiting for the sun to come up. Waiting for the showers to stop. Waiting for the penny to drop. One time. And I’ve been standing in a cloud of plans. Standing on the shifting sands. Hoping for an open hand. One time.

Beaten:
1/17 - Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary (Xbone [360 [Xbox]])
2/26 - Star Fox (SNES)
3/11 - Pokemon Zafiro Alfa (3DS)

Just like Pokemon Y, I played this game entirely in Spanish, which I greatly enjoyed (again). I hadn't played Sapphire since its release window back in 2003, so I had a lot of fun going back to it (and, of course, enjoying the numerous improvements). I think I was about as pleased with my team in this game as I have been with any, and I feel this may be my favorite Pokemon yet.

I recognize the flaws of Pokemon and its relative ease, but Pokemon Blue was my first game ever, so even if only for nostalgia, I'll return to this series as long as they keep putting out games. And I'll buy all the remakes too. Finishing this game made me feel particularly bubbly, since I'm not sure if I ever actually saw Sapphire's original release all the way through despite sinking 100 hours into it doing god knows what else.

3/13 - Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions (PlayStation)

Double post!

This was definitely a chip-away effort, with its hundreds of tiny missions. I finally knocked it out, though. Some of it was a lot of fun, some of it was horrible. Overall, a worthwhile game. It doesn't really provide a "beat" condition outside of 100% (eg, by showing the credits at 75% or something), so beating and completing this one are consequently simultaneous.

The reward for beating it probably would have been cool back in '99. It's a (PS resolution, so pretty muddy) picture of Metal Gear Ray from the (I think) yet unannounced MGS2. Exciting!

Gunman Clive 2 was great, will definitely play again with different characters. Also found all plaza tickets in Monster Manor.

3/16 - Metal Gear Solid (PlayStation)

Despite my devout Metal Gear fandom, I had never actually beaten this game until today (I'd only played the Twin Snakes remake). I turned it on knocked it out in one sitting! Hell of a game. May do a replay of the whole series before MGSV:TPP hits.

Edit:

3/17 - Persona 4 Arena (PS3)

What a boring game (often, anyway). But I finally beat the story to the extent that I wish to (it has multiple story angles, and I beat the ones that are consistent with the canon). Now I can put P4A away for good and focus on P4AU

3/16 - Metal Gear Solid (PlayStation)
3/17 - Persona 4 Arena (PS3)
3/21 - OlliOlli (PSN [Vita])

Finally finished all the pro levels. This game is really something else. Scratches the long-unheeded Tony Hawk itch, with a dash of Skate and plenty of its own ideas. Can't wait to try the sequel.

I've heard decent praise for this game, which is surprising, since to me it doesn't look like anything special. Is it more than just jumping over holes on a skateboard?

Finished:
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (3DS)
Fire Emblem Awakening (3DS)
Xeodrifter (3DS)
Pokemon Omega Ruby (3DS)
Gunman Clive 2 (3DS) x2
StreetPass Mii Plaza - Monster Manor (3DS)

Complete - 0002 - 0000 - 0003 - 0006 - 0005 - 0000

Finished Gunman Clive 2 again, this time with Chieftian Bob. Really different play style, instead of a gun he has a spear, which is stronger but with very little range as you can only stab. Really changes your tactics for enemies and makes bosses a whole new challenge!

OlliOlli is like Tony Hawk re-imagined as a 2D endless runner. The stages are full of rails, stairs, gaps, obstacles, etc. with some flexibility in how you approach your run. The moves list is comprehensive and paired with a scoring system that rewards creativity and clean landings. Honestly, I never figured I'd dig into another skateboarding game again, but this one sucked me in with it's deep, but bite-sized gameplay. A perfect fit on the Vita, too. I'm very much looking forward to firing up the sequel.

Cool, I might check it out then! Just wondering on a side note, did you get it free through Playstation Plus on the Vita?
