Top 2048 — Week 16 — Poll 17

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round!
The previous micro-round was solely to put the lowest-ranked games against each other and weed out enough games to come up with a nice even 2048 for bracketing purposes. And here we are.
This is the top 2048!
Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Half of these games will advance to the Top 1024, and the other half will be demoted to the losers' bracket, where they'll fight for survival and a chance at redemption.
HOW TO VOTE
This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances. Check back every week, because with the stakes this high, you're not going to want to miss a vote!

Killer matchup. I gotta go with Pokemon Go here for being a weird kind of viral social video game phenomenon? Also can't believe the game is 5 years old. There are still devotees playing it. I think 2020 was somehow its most profitable year on record, so that goes to show Niantic did a good job of adapting to COVID restrictions as well.

Voted S.T.A.L.K.E.R. never played it but can't for the life of me vote Pogo now. It's extremely addictive and completely feeds off fomo and drip feeds content like crazy while clearly breaking lootbox laws. They can't seem to go a week without something breaking and their whole business model should be illegal.
However in 2019/2020 I adored the game and it's how I met my partner so I totally see why people like it but the above reason is why I strongly believe it's the exact opposite of best ever game title.
More so a moral thing at this point.
I think I could happily vote Pogo 2016-2019 but the last few years they've really shown that money is their priority over quality updates. The fact they could adapt so quickly to covid shows that they can fix issues fast if they need to but they keep printing money so why bother.

It has definitely found itself in the late-loot cycle where it needs to capitalize on its existing playerbase more and more before it finally fizzles out. My vote here is admittedly based on the game's more positive peak, but it was always easy enough to see the issues incoming, with the way they turned Unown spawns on and off, the cool limited events eventually becoming locked behind paid tickets, etc.
Stalker is a great game, too.

It sucks that it couldn't just have been a 5 years game or something with fantastic content then they just close it.
Like it's totally understandable from a profit standpoint but it's just kind of sad.
