With the latest Mario Kart DLC I finally made it to 5000 coins and unlocked the gold glider, which reminded me that I hadn't unlocked everything in the game yet! Been slowly working on the GP's over the last few years so I spent the last couple days finishing up the GP and time trials so I have all the gold Kart parts and gold Mario unlocked, which I believe covers it all!
Still a great game that looks even better now on the Switch OLED. The DLC isn't as great as the base game but I appreciate having more tracks to race on.

Haven't updated this in ages so these brief reviews might be vague.
Windbound - This game was weird. I really disliked the boat controls and the whole story was fairly confusing from what I remembered. Wouldn't recommend this game.
Sonic Mania - Sonic was fun. Felt like old school sonic. Would recommend.
Pokémon Violet - If you like Pokemon then this is fun but it's a laggy buggy mess. No level scaling is a real bummer but there's a lot added into this game that I really love. I hope they can work with this and make something better in the future (I feel like I've been saying this since 2017 though)
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope - I think the original was better (and harder) this game felt like they wanted to add more battles in exchange for difficulty and length of battles. The story was great and I love what they did with the sparks it made characters more customizable. Still Highly recommend this game if you like the genre or Mario games.
Super Mario Galaxy - Masterpiece but everyone here already knows that. I think I liked SMG2 a bit better though.
Yoshi's Story - Really fun game but I can't help but be annoyed with how story mode is set up and has so much annoying cutscenes of nothingness. I also really dislike how melons work. Basically to 100% the game you need to collect every melon in one playthrough of the level. There's 30 of them and a lot of them require you to do something quickly otherwise the melon is destroyed. Still worth a play if you have NSO N64.
Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards - Surprisingly extremely fun. One of the best games I've played this year I really don't know why I slept on it for so long. Merging copy abilities is such a fun concept and the game just feels fun. Only complaint is that some of the shards are really overly complex to get with very little explanation on how to get them. Also minus points for having a bad invisibility theme.
Celeste - I Finally 100% this fucking thing. God World 9 is hell. Pure hell. But I love it. HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME.

My 2022 in summary:
Most of my time was spent playing little puzzle games to keep my brain in good shape and pass time while relaxing with sleeping Dobermans (Picross S6, Monument Valley 2, Hexcells Plus, Hexcells Infinite, SquareCells, and CrossCells).
The other major highlight of the year is that I finally started playing a popular MMO (Final Fantasy XIV). I'll stick with this as my new "social" game for a while. The point is more hanging out in party chat catching up with friends than actually running fetch quests. It's holding up!
The main "game" game I played through this year was Yoku's Island Express. I stuck it out for the Platinum trophy, but it wasn't as good as I had heard, so... kind of disappointed. We'll see what 2023 brings!

That's it for 2022. Solid year, 28 beat by my count which is more than last year. I played a few long haul games near the end of the year that solid me down a bit like Xenoblade 3, Persona 5 and Splatoon 3. Overall the standouts for me were Elden Ring, Xenoblade 3, Death's Door and Tunic.
