Spirit Tracks was a good improvement on Phantom Hourglass. While the world wasn't entirely free to explore, the train still worked well and had a surprising amount of discovery despite only being and to move on tracks. I wouldn't mind seeing more touch screen Zelda titles, or similar titles.

Guacamelee! gets my vote in this poll. The whole game is good: nice music, awesome design/style, but the thing that edges this game into the "great" category is the controls/action/combat. Juan's moveset is varied, and combat flows very smoothly. It's all quite easy to control and string together attacks. By the end of the game, when fighting through some of the tougher arenas, you really start to feel like a champion.

I said some words about THPS2 in the PS1 memories thread. One of my favorite games ever. I surely hope that THPS5, which comes out at the end of this month, can follow its legacy.

Shit, I missed THPS2. I guess it doesn't matter too much though, I voted for the game that's beating it.

Guacamelee gets an easy single vote from me, given the competition. Plus, it's a game I didn't nominate on the simple grounds it had come up in others' nominations. This is a legitimate BGE contender and a wonderful game.

The Xcom reboot is good and almost makes me want to vote for the game I never played.

Also reminder to myself to play guacamelee ever

And spirit tracks is SHIT because the train was too hard for how not very fun it was.

Phantom hourglass > spirit tracks

i have never met anyone who shares this opinion

Never heard of Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition went to look it up and after watching the trailer I still haven't a clue what the hell it is and why it's beating THPS2 :(

Guacamelee! Is one of the finest Metroidvanias ever made. It also has a comprehensive combo system that's unbelievably fun to experiment with and master. I'm thrilled to see it in the lead.
