Abstaining from this one. As a huge Mortal Kombat fan... I'm... shocked that 4 has made an appearance. By far the worst in the series.

Super Castlevania IV is arguably the finest Castlevania game (at least I'm arguing that). And Silent Hill 4 is one of the most frightening games I've ever played. I couldn't even bring myself to finish it....

In contrast to my thoughts on Pac-Man, which I "enjoyed" as a kid but never really grew to like, I consider Ms. Pac-Man to be a quantum leap of achievement over its predecessor. The stage design was improved without being over the top, and the presentation (graphics, sound, and overall coherence of design) was a significant improvement. Plus the game simply felt smoother and easier to control.

It's my only vote in this bracket.

Sly cooper was great fun and a great story. Didn't vote NSMB Wii as it was way to much like the DS version.

EDIT: thought this was the original sly but it wasn't I doubt it will come top 2 but if you want to exclude my vote you can.

Jeez, no fear of anything making this difficult for me. Ms. Pac Man earns my first single vote of the round so far. Aside from being wholly superior to Pac Man, it remained the best entry in series until the outstanding Championship Editions released. This was a childhood staple since my whole family loved it (with my mom enjoying the title of high score queen), and may just be the game that holds the most nostalgia for me. As far as I know, this was also the first unofficial game/hack that ever achieved official status, with Midway making and selling the game sans authorization, and Namco quickly (and smartly) adopting it as canon.

It's a tough choice between Ms. Pac-Man and Castlevania IV, I can only vote for the former though as I've put very little time into Castlevania, I'm just well aware of its revered-ness in the gaming world.

The fact that Ms. Pac-Man is even better than the original says it all.

Could have voted for both.
