Bottom 1024 — Week 20 — Poll 2

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Saturday... or Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Second round in a row that sees Share actively voting against a Dragon Quest game!

DOOM 64 has some stuff in it of mild interest, which is more than can be said of many DOOM console ports, but Torneko's Mystery Dungeon is one of those early games that goes a long way towards establishing and firming up the "mysterious dungeon" subgenre of Roguelikes, thanks in part to its use of the Dragon Warrior IP, and thanks in part to being a good game.

You probably know this, but difficult to infer for sure from the composition of this sentence, so FWIW: DOOM 64 is not a port. It is a completely new/unique game.

(And it rules.)

Yep, it's good by virtue of being a DOOM. I don't rank it above DOOM or DOOM 2. Roughly something like DOOM > DOOM 2 > DOOM 64 > DOOM 32X console port > other console ports.

DOOM & DOOM 2 easily trounce Torneko, but this doesn't.
