Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Saturday... or Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Goodness. Gen V is excellent and certainly better than Doodle Jump. Hopefully B/W can hang on with their seeding.

Hmm, so it has been awhile since I played it, but a couple things that stick out:

-Only generation (besides Gen I by definition) to only feature new pokemon in the wild (until postgame)
-Great music
-Above average story for the series (not a high bar, though)
-Reusable TMs
-Gym leaders a bit more interesting/involved than in other games iirc

Honestly I'd vote for pretty much any Pokemon game over DJ, but Gen V is one of the more "actually good" Pokemon games imo (as opposed to the nostalgia-fueled comfort food most of them are to me).

Is there anything different in the mechanics/meta-game or is it just an "everything is a bit better" kind of situation? I never got to Gen V, but I have heard this praise for it from other quarters as well.

B/W was the most forgettable game for me and I've heard BW2 is better anyway.
