Top 512 — Week 6 — Poll 3

Post by This Old Neon »

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 512!

Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

IMO this is a closer matchup than the current vote total makes it seem. Frogger is an arcade OG with a nice unique gameplay concept. Unfortunately it ended up with a lot of clones rather than a lot of iteration and improvement on the original concept.

Bubble Bobble is zany two-player fun with lots more levels and lots more to do. That’s what drove my vote anyway. I love Frogger just as much as the next 45-year old guy but it’s no Bubble Bobble.
I never thought I would feel this way, but now I know. Now I know. I never thought I would see things as I see them now, but now I know. I never thought I would hurt so bad, but now I know. Now I know.

Played Bubble Bobble just last week with my daughter. It's approachable, but brings in complexity piece by piece with stages that add new platforming challenges, enemy types, or power-ups as you go. A few secrets, but not so many it's overwhelming.

I've played Frogger, but I must have been too late to the game to appreciate it just as an "OG". I can play it for 10 minutes, but get bored of it quickly.
