I either haven't played or don't care for the games here. I pretty much voted for the games I dislike the least. My hope is that my spite voting will lead to some game I dislike not making it to the next round.

Super Meat Boy and Guacamelee are perfect games and outshine everything else in this bracket by a country mile. Easy.

I got Super Meat Boy on PS4 but haven't started it yet ;b. Yet another thing to escalate on my to-do list!

I read on the internet that Mario Kart 64 is actually the best one with the most advanced techniques and gameplays.

Final Fantasy VII is, in my opinion, the best game ever. It's my favourite game of all time. I feel sad it's not going to make it through this bracket for some bizarre reason.

Another vote for Suikoden too. It can hold its ground against FFVII for my affection.

Mario Kart 64, Xenoblade Chronicles and Banjo-Kazooie are all good, just not in the same league.

Suikoden is a relatively easy vote here, but only because I also voted for Final Fantasy VII, which comes close to it in terms of PS1 RPG quality.

I also voted for Super Meat Boy, which is a perfect platformer. The controls are perfect. The learning curve is perfect. The game teaches you techniques without you even realizing that you're learning and improving. The stages are clear and fair and require precision. The game allows quick restarts so you can keep training that muscle memory without having to wait for annoying loading scenes, etc. (Warp zones are a rare exception here.) This belongs up there with the greats. It's a shame the music in the PS4 version isn't as good as the classic stuff.

I also voted for Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition, which is another relatively recent perfect game. Great design and fluid combat are the keys to the success of an exploration/action platformer like this.

GAHAHAHAHA!

FINALLY

While Sengoku Rance has zero chance of winning, I'll go ahead and shill for it anyways.

This is a seriously underrated JRPG*. It is actually my favorite game of any videogame I've ever played, and definitely my favorite JRPG. It has an awesome story, a cast of extremely colorful characters, fun and strategic gameplay**, a non-linear adventure, additional routes that you can embark upon on new game+, multiple difficulty levels and even a free for all mode. The game is a parody of Sengoku-Jidai Japan and so if you are interested in the history of that time period, your enjoyment of the game will be greatly magnified.

Sengoku Rance has one problem. It's an H game. Unfortunately, that shit don't fly in the West. Most people will dismiss it off-hand (or with one hand?) for being a porn game, but let me tell you that this is a SERIOUS mistake. Sengoku Rance is a game that you play for the gameplay. The porn is either a nice side offering or something you can ignore completely (by pressing control during "H" scenes). Japan, unlike the West, has different genres of H games. There are "nukige" games which are games that are solely for fapping and there are more serious H games which are as good or better than mainstream games. Sengoku Rance is definitely an example of the latter. You can come (cum?) for the porn, but you stay for the fact that it's genuinely a good game. In fact, it is probably the best H game ever made. Despite being a JRPG, this game has the exact same "one more turn" addictive factor that makes Civilization V so good.

*-Technically it's a "conquest SLG" game, which is a type of subgenre in Japan which involves conquering a map. In this case you conquer a map of Japan with your armies.

*-Believe it or not, a lot of fans of Paradox Interactive grand strategy games LOVE Sengoku Rance. The game has a surprising amount of depth despite mostly being a JRPG.
