I'm honestly unsure what I'd pick between MGS and GB Tetris, but that time hasn't come yet.

Oh, look, the actual BGE!Super Mario World
But wait...
Suffice it to say I'd be okay with either of these taking the crown. They're completely different in nearly every way, but they're also completely great in nearly every way.Metal Gear Solid

My first 3D Mario (cos all through high school we went through this Nintendo is for baby shit so I missed the GameCube/early Wii generation and I never owned a n64) it is such a fantastic game yoshi is 3D was so fun and the gravity element was awesome. Shame it's not in HD.

Toughest bracket yet. You know it must be bad when you don't even have enough votes to include Punch-Out!!...
Super Mario World. Possibly my first game ever played. I even made a video dedicated as to why I love this game so much, although I've yet to publish it. Suffice to say, quite possibly the best game ever. Pure joy.
Fire Emblem Awakening. Revived a dying series and surpassed every iteration before it (not that i've play many...). Brilliant game, looks absolutely gorgeous, packed with content. Cant wait for Fates.
Tetris. Ah, my old friend. The countless hours you sucked from me, and batteries for that matter.
Metal Gear Solid. A masterpiece of its time and still the best game in the series, in my opinion. The sequels, as enjoyable as they were, just took the world too far "out there".
Haven't played Galaxy 2, despite loving number 1. I feel sorry for Little Mac... Think I might buy it on the Virtual Console to make up for dropping him.

Re: Top 128: 13/16 - Grand Theft Bracket
Tetris and Metal Gear Solid are gimmes here. Humphries make a good point: I wonder how many AA batteries Tetris is responsible for.
I also cast a vote for Grand Theft Auto III, which is a pioneering open world game. I lavished praise on Vice City for taking this to the next level and really making something special of it, but on a personal level, I prefer the more generic world of GTA III.
I also cast a somewhat hesitant vote for Fire Emblem. It's not the best entry in the series by a long shot. And it has its flaws for sure. I'm not sure I like the introduction of grinding. And the game's difficulty modes are very poorly tuned. But the core gameplay is solid and entertaining, and players have enough options for how to approach the various scenarios that it stays interesting.

Yeah Normal mode is too easy, and Lunatic is a bit too hard. It's not terribly hard, but the first 7 chapters or so are ridiculous, you're forced to send all your units to a corner while Chrom X Fredrick swipe the map. Just wasn't as fun for me.Kong Wen wrote: And the game's difficulty modes are very poorly tuned. I did enjoy the game a lot though, I think I put somewhere near 200 hours into it. Not as much as my 800 hours into Radiant Dawn, though. At least the new game is looking to deliver what Awakening didn't with more interesting maps and a traditional no grinding version.
