Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 256!

Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Super Meat Boy is a perfect platformer. Touch-perfect controls, excellent level design, and lightning-fast gameplay and respawning makes dying fun and hilarious rather than frustrating. Being able to quickly train up muscle memory to beat a sequence of tricky moves in a stage, with perfect floaty jumps, sticky wall climbing, and speedy dashing, and have the whole process only take a minute or so, is supremely satisfying. Perfect game.

Final Fantasy V is great but it appears twice in the Top 256. This entry is the Super Famicom version that unfortunately never made it to western shores. Later on in the brackets we'll see the GBA version with some added content. So I don't feel too bad about voting against it here.
