I could easily use all four votes here, but this bracket contains the one game to rule them all. Robotron 2084 is the BGE. Full stop.

There, I fixed that for you.

If only I could vote for 5 games here.

Skyrim - great, huge open-world, nearly perfect fantasy sandbox
Opoona - charming, original RPG with lots of character (original RPGs are hard to come by)
R-Type - seminal shooter
Robotron - incredibly gameplay-innovative
Mega Man 2 - perfect action-platformer, peak of the series, great music

One or more will have to go, depending on how high I raise the bar for myself.

You know I adore R-Type but there are scant few games I'd be willing to boost against Robotron. Best. Game. Ever.

Pokémon Gold/Silver
My first Pokémon experience. I love the series and this will always have a special place in my heart.

Pokemon Silver is still the best Pokemon game.

Skyrim. My third favourite Elder Scrolls game, but still magnificent in its own right.

Would have liked to give a sympathy vote for Opoona. It was a cute little gem on the Wii. Sadly I didn't complete it, I must have got distracted by something else. Would like to go back and give it a proper go one day. Considering I only played a little bit of it, I often think about it randomly. Must be the name.

Alright, I pulled the trigger. I had to cut Opoona from the team, merely because, like Humphries, I haven't given it enough attention/time. That's something I really ought to remedy sooner rather than later.

Totally fair. I'm not sure it's really BGE material, and I'm happy it made it to 128 (even if that's just because I nominated a small number of games...). Plus, the competition here is pretty tough!

Re-reading the review I wrote back in the day, it seems I've more or less always felt this way, so it's not just nostalgia. I love how the game presents itself as a kid-oriented story and turns that on its head a few times... or suggests that kids can handle betrayals and some outright manipulation. It'd be nice to see more games try something completely out-there like Opoona did.

I would've given Skyrim a vote if it wasn't a buggy mess on the PS3. It bugged me out of the Companions questline, and for that, I will never forgive it!
