Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round of 256!

Each game is seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools. Every game in the Upper Bracket has defeated multiple other games in 1-on-1 polls to get to this point. These are still the best of the best.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Mario Kart 8 is basically Mario Kart Wii with lots of tracks. It's fine, and it's certainly a fun game to whip out at parties or to set down in front of little children. It's certainly not one of the 128 best games of all time, especially not when it's up against a masterwork like the modern classic XCOM. I didn't even have faith that they'd be able to make XCOM work, especially not on consoles, but they managed to blend the top-level strategic development aspect as well as the front-line tactical combat aspect and still include lots of variability in play styles. Great game.
