Bottom 768 — Week 10 — Poll 14

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Saturday... or Sunday or Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

New OP strategy for shit games to advance: no one has played them, so no one can vote against them.

I have no problem voting against shit games if I am confident without playing them that they are shit and confident without playing its opponent that it's at least decent. That may or may not be my exact situation in this pairing. :)

The nice thing about series is they tend to be very similar game-to-game, and I don't think it's unreasonable at all to extrapolate my experience with other games in each series to make a sound judgment call here.

We're close. I typically don't vote for or against games I haven't played (I've played at least a little bit of a lot of games), so my comment wasn't a comment on anyone specific's voting criteria.

I'm just observing that it leads to a funny situation where underplayed games can become unbeatable.

Oh, to be clear, I think it's a funny and true observation!

I also was not intending to deride or pass judgment on anyone's personal voting criteria/guidelines (I hope I did not offend Share above). I was just saying I think mine are good and that I'm comfortable voting in some contests involving games I have not played if I have a substantial enough history with the series or other body of evidence to suggest an extreme likelihood that I would or would not like a game.

No I’m fine. Was just communicating where I’m at
