Funny, I distinctly remember saying to myself during the tiebreaker that if it were between the first Portal and Doom II, it'd be a lot harder to choose...

Well, Doom II managed to scrape out a last-minute win in last round's tie-breaker to eliminate Portal 2, and now here it comes face to face against the superior original entry in that series.

Gah, and this is after I threw the original Doom under the bus with a vote for Super Meat Boy with the excuse that Doom II is also still in the running. Unfortunately, it's also up against another one of my all-time favourite games. A brilliantly-executed game that I played through for the first time in one sitting while eating cake with my kid sister, both of us untarnished by spoiler-memes.
