BOTTOM 512 — Week 9 — Poll 24

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

I am torn on this one. I love Pool of Radiance, and it's an important early translation of D&D into a turn-based tactical video game, but God of War is an important game in the evolution of combo-based action adventures as well, heavily influencing the past 3 generations of gritty fighting man action games.

I had to go with Pool of Radiance this time but do so with a heavy heart. God of War is fantastic albeit misogynistic.

God of War came out after Devil May Cry 3 and is significantly less good at being a fighting man action game IMO. Easy for me to vote against here and in favor of a game that looks quite a bit more interesting.

Yeah, God of War's debt to Devil May Cry is one of the things that gave me pause. I'm glad to see Pool hanging in there!
