BOTTOM 320 — Week 3 — Poll 6

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

Mega Man X is one of my fave games of all time—certainly one of my fave action games, and locked in a permanent near-tie for overall best Mega Man game alongside 2 and 9.

But Pool of Radiance, for an old-school tactical RPG enjoyer, has it all. CRPG D&D character & party creation, exploration, dungeon-crawling, and turn-based grid-based tactical battles. The gold box games are magical. Despite contributing meaningfully to the evolution of western RPGs in general and tactical RPGs in particular, no one has ever made something quite like them again...

(Yes, this is one of those polls like the one I mentioned to Clay where my silver lining is the knowledge that one of these games is guaranteed to survive till the next round.)

Pool of Radiance suffers from just being too old for me to get into. There's just very few NES games that peek my interest. The system has so many limitation that the SNES just fixed and considering I grew up with a SNES I consider that baseline.
