BOTTOM 320 — Week 4 — Poll 2

Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

The 'original' (in the West) AC is still the best and the first proper taste of Nintendo officially keeping their BC alive through ROMS.

If it were FFX or 7 I may have voted against it though

Another easy vote here, this time for FF8. Animal Crossing has been completely made redundant by the excellent New Horizons. The only way in which AC even merits consideration now is as an originator/influencer of cozy life sims, and as a nostalgic vehicle.

FF8 was a classic typically Square follow-up to the success of FF7, which scared noobs who had only played its immediate predecessor (why is this game different? why not playing as cloud again?). And it out-sold FF7. :D Thanks to a little more time and a LOT more money, Square was able to elevate the chonkin' PS1-era 3D graphics to the next level with this one. They also created a whole new system to play around with (some RPG series just keep using the same familiar "on brand" systems entry after entry) and gave us another over the top plot that is still somehow more cohesive than FF7's. Plus Triple Triad is a fucking master-stroke. Great game.
