This game was a vast improvement over its predecessors. Fun romp through the Star Wars universe with an absolute bevvy of post-game content (and achievements to pursue). Traveler's Tales really has a great formula here.
Well that's really saying something, since I think the previous Lego games are a ton of fun!

Agreed! I should clarify that I was specifically referring to the previous LEGO Star Wars games. The first LEGO Star Wars (which I believe was also the first LEGO [Licensed Franchise] game period) and LEGO Star Wars: The Original Trilogy. In the years since, Traveler's Tales has taken great strides in improving lots of little things about the series, and inasmuch as I have only played a few of these games, the huge leap in quality of the series from the previous Star Wars entries to this one provides all kinds of nice little things that weren't present at the beginning of this series's life. Not to mention the fact that it's my first LEGO game on a current-gen console, so the graphics have seen a nice bump in quality.

Another one of the biggest improvements is the addition of voice-acted, highly cinematic cut-scenes. It's really cool that Ford, Fisher, Ridley, etc. lent their voices to this game, and quite well, I might add. This was a light-hearted, funny, and remarkably effective way re-experience the movie, and the production values far exceeded my expectations.

But yeah, definitely did not mean to imply that the previous games were in any way bad. This one is just exceptional!

Reminds me that I need to go back and knock out LEGO Batman 2 as well. I was having fun with that one before getting sidetracked by my move.

Beaten:
1/17 - Mortal Kombat X (Xbone)
1/31 - Blast Corps (Xbone [N64])
3/6 - Pokémon Edición Azul (3DS [VC])
3/23 - Shovel Knight (Wii U)
4/18 - LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga (360)
4/23 - Star Fox Zero (Wii U)
5/18 - Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin (DS)
6/25 - Kirby: Planet Robobot (3DS)

7/19 - DOOM (XBLA [MS-DOS])
7/25 - LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Xbone)
7/30 - Gunstar Heroes (XBLA [Genesis])

I've owned this game nearly as long as I've had my 360, but I never got around to actually knocking it out. When it appeared on my Xbone dashboard after it became backwards compatible, I knew I had to finally beat it. In the interest of doing so expeditiously, I put that bastard on easy and smoked my way through the game. It was a ton of fun! I hope to one day get the chance to play it co-op with a buddy, as I'm sure that would be even better (maybe I'd try a higher difficulty next time  ). Anyway, good game. Glad to have gotten around to it.

Rebeaten:
3/28 - Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS3 [PS2]) (2x)

I just beat Severed 100% this afternoon, snagging the Platinum trophy in the process. My game timer was just a hair under 8 hours for full completion, no guide required (the game is really good about marking your map in distinctive and informative ways). The ending was really satisfying. All of the bosses were very well-designed, so the combination of great art/style + game/play design rockets this up high on the list of overall nearly perfect games. Highly recommended that anyone who can give it a try on the Vita; everyone else, definitely give it a try on iOS.

Finally beat Fallout 4's main story, along with all the faction trophy quests. Had a lot of fun with this one. I'm about 3 trophies away from platinum... they aren't especially annoying trophies (this game is actually a pretty easy platinum if you enjoy the game) but we'll see. I hear it's a real pain in the butt to get max happiness in a settlement due to the game being buggy.

Well, I just beat I am Setsuna.... It was deeply, deeply flawed. It had a couple of things going for it, but not enough to save it from itself. A This Old Neon review is pending.

Naturally, this game was pretty much the interactive narrative style one would expect from Telltale. I think it's my favorite of their games I've played so far. Source material was something I was unfamiliar with (and think is a really neat concept), so that helped. Plot was interesting. Definitely had fun and would absolutely play a sequel. If you're into this sort of game, I'd recommend it.

Side note, this is only the third game I've gotten from Xbox Live Games with Gold (Microsoft's PS+ analog) that I've finished. Very gratifying service when you get something you like! I'm still not a fan of having my licenses tied to a subscription rather than at least a permanent digital purchase, or most preferably a disk, but definitely cool to get a quality game through the service. Sunset Overdrive is another title I got with GwG recently, so hopefully this is a sign that the quality of offerings are beginning to rise. Time will tell!

Saw a physical version of he Wolf Among Us for $20 at the store, might just pick it up sometime.

From anecdotal evidence, it seems like XBOX gets better "free" games than PS4, so I'm certainly jealous!
