Welcome to the #BGE2020 Elimination Round Lower Bracket!

Each game in the lower bracket is still seeded based on its performance in the two opening rounds of pools! Every game in the lower bracket has already been defeated by another game in a 1-on-1 poll to get to this point. This is their chance to claw their way back into the main event... but the stakes are high. The games that lose in these polls are out of the tournament for good! The games that survive will face the next crop of upper bracket losers in the next round.

Polls are updated weekly, typically on Monday. Check back throughout the week to make sure you don't miss a vote!

HOW TO VOTE

This is easy. You only get one vote per poll. The game with the most votes wins. In the event of a tie, the higher seed advances, so don't get complacent!

I love both of these games. I think Castlevania II gets an inordinate amount of "meme" hate by people who haven't played it. It's a good adventure game. Alas, that still doesn't make it one of the best Castlevanias, or one of the best games ever.

Shadowrun on Genesis is a very ambitious translation of a pen & paper RPG onto a console. There were obviously conventions for this kind of thing already in place, but Shadowrun is unique. You have lots of choice, detailed character building, and an impressive and interesting hacking system (one of the main mechanics of the franchise).

The main problem I have with Shadowrun on the Genesis is that it isn't Shadowrun on the SNES. The Genesis game is the more faithful transcription of the nuts and bolts of the P&P game, but for me it's missing the soul of the game. I don't get the same feeling of place and atmosphere with the Genesis game and that leaves it feeling like a letdown to me. Castlevania II gets the nod from me.
