I went with Suikoden here because it's an excellent RPG. I remember being absolutely blown away by the graphics, coming straight to this from the SNES and seeing things like reflections in the floors and tall, fully-articulated sprites. The fact that you could also form your party out of 108 mostly interesting characters, establish and develop a headquarters, and engage in three tiers of combat (duels, 6-member party skirmishes, and large-scale wars) added an epic sense of scope beyond just "saving the world!"

Great game.

Suikoden and Pokemon both started two of my favorite franchises, and both has been overshadowed by one or more sequels.

The big nostalgic difference for me is that Blue was my first Pokemon game, paving the way for a life long addiction, while I didn't play Suikoden until I had beaten Suikoden 2 multiple times. And while Suikoden is alright, it can't compare to the second one to me.

Looks like we still have a tie here for the 4th game to advance. Time's ticking!

The tie-breaker has ended. Suikoden sneaks through in the 3rd spot, but the 4th spot is still undecided. I'll post another tie-breaker between those two games soon. in the meantime, we have other side-events to keep us busy before the second round of the Survivor Series can begin. :)
