I finally beat the first loop of The Binding of Isaac. I was using Eve, and I only had 0-1 hearts throughout most of the run, plus 7-9 soul hearts. In the Depths, I made a deal with the devil for 9 lives. I also had a couple pretty flies and an attack fly. By far the most important thing for me I think was the Fear Shot, because it made those Darknuts (and Monstroborg) run away from me instead of towards me, making it easier to hit them in the back.

I also unlocked Lazarus, but I don't think I unlocked anyone else yet. I don't know how you're supposed to get the guy who needs 55 coins, since I've only ever had 20-30 tops in any good run.

How was Sonic 4? Compare to the originals at all?

I like it a lot. Yes, it's kind of like a reimagining of the first one with four zones (Green Hill, that stupid Pinball one, Labyrinth, and Scrap Metal) and 7 special stages. Lots of reason to replay, too, as there's several routes and secrets in each level not to mention time attack modes. It's got a hub interface so you can go to any level you want at any time. It's just boss levels that require unlocking. I'd played this already long ago but never got the good ending. I will soon as I finally have all of the chaos emeralds. Episode 2, if I recall, reimagined Sonic 2. It was really good as well. My daughter plays episode 1 (the only one on my PS3 hard drive) all the time.

One of my favorite things about it is that the levels are designed in ways that once you know them you can tear through them. I felt that way about Sonic 2 as well... There's something about being rewarded for jumping at the right moment....not to mention it looks cool and it's fun when you pull it off.

Ah didn't know the episodes played out like that, pretty neat actually. It's a wonder why they don't release Sonic 5 instead of the medicore games they've been putting out lately.
